WHY FRIDLIN?

At FRIDLIN, we believe less is more — especially when it comes to children's development. Instead of overwhelming activity walls filled with countless distractions, each FRIDLIN toy focuses on one clear idea.

This is exactly how the brain learns best:

One impulse, one discovery, one joyful moment at a time. Our colorful, minimalist designs naturally spark curiosity.

Children dive in, explore at their own pace, and repeat what they love — reinforcing their skills through joyful repetition. No adult guidance is needed. No instructions to follow. Just pure discovery.

Through this simple but powerful approach, FRIDLIN strengthens more than fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination: We nurture independence, self-confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Because true growth starts from within.

  • COLOR

Colorful like the rainbow, clearly defined and easy to distinguish even for the very youngest, these are our 6 colors that can be found on every game.

  • SHAPE

Minimalistic, almost in the Bauhaus style, but everything a child needs is there. Round or square, propeller or triangle. There is sooo much to discover

  • FUNCTION

Every FRIDLIN toy opens up a new world of movement — spin it, flip it, pull it, slot it in, and discover even more. The more toys you add, the more the eyes sparkle — not only the children’s!.

Our designer

Every toy from FRIDLIN begins with a single question:

"What do children truly need to develop well?"

Dr. Fridlind Siebrecht studied toy design, pedagogy, and psychology — a rare combination that enables her to approach toy creation holistically.

Inspired by the principles of Friedrich Fröbel, the founder of the kindergarten, she uniquely blends design, education, and developmental psychology.

In her creative studio, surrounded by books and playful ideas, she designs minimalist and clear forms that nurture children's curiosity and independence — toys that remain cherished memories for a lifetime.

Tradition and craftsmanship meet ecological responsibility for the future

Hidden deep in the Thuringian Forest, a small workshop has been alive with craftsmanship and creativity since 1867.
Once, it was sewing boxes, slate boards, and gramophone cabinets that left these doors — today, it is colorful wooden toys that spark wonder in children's eyes. What has never changed is the spirit behind it: Every surface is finished until it feels like silk in your hands.

Every detail is shaped with care, guided by a simple principle — to create something that feels truly good, something that lasts.

Owner Hans-Peter Keil, his wife Sigrid, and every member of our family-run team craft each toy with the same love and dedication they would for their own children and grandchildren.

Because at FRIDLIN, toys aren't just made — they are born from tradition, designed for discovery, and built to last a lifetime.

Every toy, crafted by hand with love

At FRIDLIN, every step we take matters — because true quality is born from care. We shape natural materials by hand, with patience and craftsmanship, into toys made to last. For us, durability and sustainability are not marketing terms — they are the principles we live and work by, every single day.

Sustainable packaging

At FRIDLIN, we believe protecting the planet starts with small, mindful choices. That’s why our toys are delivered in simple, recyclable cardboard boxes — no flashy prints, no plastic windows. After unpacking, the toys don’t require additional packaging for storage, keeping things simple, sustainable, and beautiful.

We deliberately choose not to include screws or wall plugs for wall mounting — every wall, whether concrete, brick, wood, or plasterboard, requires its own specific solution.
